The purpose of Crime stoppers of Rockingham County is to work in partnership to further promote and enhance the effectiveness of stopping crime. By acting as a conduit for exchange of information and ideas, thereby reducing crime and increasing the quality of life within the county. Tips are received from those calling 349-9683 with confidential information that could lead to a reward of up to $1,000. Information received is distributed to law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction of the reported crime.

Rockingham County Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all rewards are paid from donations from the community. The program and its funding is overseen by a board of unpaid volunteer citizens from Rockingham County.
